I'm almost done with her. I touched up her eyes and made her jewerly and corset. I need to make her arm sleeve things and I want to do something for her lower half but I don't know what yet... Her hair is also driving me nuts!

Tell me about the hair. Gene gets ultra frizzies. She's due for a hair cut...a bob and curl circa 1926. If only I can find someone who can pull it off.

Oh, yes...wonderful shot. You set the doll in a beautiful way. It all works fine..even the hair. But the hair...

lol!
Its odd with the Obitsu heads... sometimes the hair is absolutely gorgeous and rooted very well and even. Then there are the heads here the hair is kind of thick and almost greasy YET it flies around her head like a mad banshee...

Thank you so much for the compliments... I seriously am more encouraged after seeing your shots and from your encouragement. I've noticed that I have to take ALOT of pictures just to get one decent shot though...

Do you mean nuts as in you can't control the little fly-away bits? When my dolls hair does that, I use a tiny amount of human hair mousse (not the foamy stuff, but the stuff in pots). Use a small amount and first rub it into your fingertips, then gently wipe it through the hair causing problems and it should smooth down the annoying bits, just don't use too much ^__^

BTW she looks stunning! I love how you've painted the tearducts; I have never once managed to paint realistic looking tearducts :tears:

Dolls I want to make: Next up, Cutty Flam from One Piece!

Just plan. Choose your background properly. Decide on your depth of field. Diffuse your light source. Play around with black and white if you can. Position your subject appropriately. Select a philosophy for your shots. (I am cinematic in my shots, looking to stills from noir and pre-code.) And shoot, shoot, shoot!
